I am glad to share with my fellow readers and blogging buddies that my blog’s new Alexa rank is 83,785. As a blogger who will be leaving full time job by the end of August to earn his living from blogging and Internet projects, I am very happy that hardworking pays off these days.
You can find the comparison of my blog’s Alexa performance with Caroline-Middlebrook.com/blog (2610 RSS subscribers), Thinksimplenow.com (Almost 6000 RSS subscribers), and Thethinkingblog.com (2250 RSS subscribers) herebelow:
Most sponsors/direct advertisors believe that popular blogs with high RSS subscribers will have a better Alexa performance. Above chart proves that it is not true. My blog has only 230-250 RSS subscribers daily in average, yet still competing well with more popular blogs.
How I achieve that? It is not top secret. I am hardworking and I have the vision to become big. I try to find my own way of blogging, rather than copying popular bloggers. I am open to all kinds of criticism and learning from my mistakes. Apart from that, I use social bookmarking/networking sites very effectively.

Monthly visitors increased by 7 pct when compared to Feb 2008, and surpassed 6K for the first time

Below figures has been taken from sitemeter.com as of this morning:
My aim is to keep on increasing the visit numbers by 7 pct each and every month until the rest of the year. In other words I target 11K visits by the end of December 2008. I started April very well, and April visits are already 1K in three days(Thanks to SEO Elite!)
RSS Subscribers:
By December 27, 2007 my blog had around 100 RSS subscribers daily. Read the previous report here How I Quadrupled My Blog’s Traffic In 3 Months
By the end of March 2008 RSS subscribers are at 180. I aim to have 200 RSS readers by the end of April.
Technorati Rank:
On December 27, 2007 my blog’s Technorati performance looked like below:
Technorati rank : 124,132 (Authority 60) – 185 blog reactions to Search For Blogging
Three months later, the new ranking looks like below:
Technorati rank : 19,371 (Authority 267) – 611 blog reactions to Search For Blogging
This is a major success story. However my target is to be in top 5000 by the end of 2008. Read my 2008 Goals here. I invested on SEO Elite which will hopefully improve my Technorati ranking as well.
Alexa Rank:
My Alexa rank was 253,520 by December 27, 2007. Now it is 81,154. My blog will probably be listed in top 50,000 by the end of June 2008. See Alexa performance graph below:
As my target is to make money from blogging, I am very satisfied with the increasing Alexa and Technorati rankings.

Total earned during Feb : $395
(*) Finally I sold the 3rd Voda Host hosting package, and received $210 affiliate payment. I invested $167 of that money to SEO Elite.
My aim is to earn $1000 per month by the end of 2008. Therefore I evaluate every single opportunity to make more money with my blog. In that respect, I have launched my Advertise page in February which will hopefully increase my blogging income.
Conclusion:
March 2008 has been a good month for me. I managed to surpass 6K visits, and launch March 2008 Bloghology at the same time. I joined Social Powerlinking in March which hopefully will improve my position in social networks. I will start my podcast/video series to stand out from the crowd and increase my blog’s popularity.

Even though February was a short month, monthly visit number continued to rise when compared to January 2008 (thanks to Bloghology!).

In February, RSS subscribers peaked and reached to 262! The average RSS reader was 16o during the month:

Technorati rank : 124,132 (Authority 60) – 185 blog reactions to Search For Blogging
Two months later, the new ranking looks like below:
Technorati rank : 21,958 (Authority 243) – 515 blog reactions to Search For Blogging
This is a major success story. However my target is to be in top 5000 by the end of 2008. Read my 2008 Goals here. If i keep improving at this pace, it seems possible to hit my goal by June 2008. We will see…
Alexa Rank:
My Alexa rank was 253,520 by December 27, 2007. Now it is 104,107. My blog will probably be listed in top 100,000 by the end of March. This is another major success story i would like to share with you. See the performance jump better below:

Even though i could not blog for one week due to my dad’s loss, Search For Blogging has continued to rise during Jan 2008 (thanks to Bloghology!).

As i mentioned above, i was away for one full week due to my father’s loss. Yet i could still manage to surpass December 2007 figures thanks to Bloghology. If i could continue blogging that week, the number of visitors will probably hit 7K.

By the end of Jan 2008 my blog has 164 RSS subscribers. In another words, the number of RSS subscribers have increased by 64 % in one month.

This is a major success story. I almost tripled my Technorati rank in one month! However my target was to be in top 5000 by the end of 2008. Read my 2008 Goals here. Therefore i have a long way to go. The war has just started!

As i summarized in How I Quadrupled My Blog’s Traffic In 3 Months, 2007 was a very successful year for Search For Blogging. My blog finished Dec 2007 at around 5500 visits, and an average of around 350 visitors a day. However, this is just the beginning for this blog. I have very ambitious targets for 2008. You may find them herebelow:
- Number of Visits per day
- By the end of 1st Qtr 2008, i aim to hit 1000 visits per day. By the end of 2008, the number of visits are targetted as 2000 visits per day.
- Number of RSS Subscribers
- By the end of 1st Qtr 2008, i aim to have 350 RSS readers in average per day. By the end of 2008, the number of RSS subscribers are targetted as 1000.
- Technorati Rank
- By the end of 2008 i want Search For Blogging to be in top 5000 list of Technorati.
- Alexa Rank
- By the end of 2008, i want Search For Blogging to be in top 5000 list of Alexa.
- Monetization & Steady Income
- By the end of 2008, i aim to earn USD 1000 from my blog each and every month
- Advertise Page
- By the end of 1st Qtr 2008, Advertising page will be up and running. I knew that without good traffic, having an advertising page in my blog was not a clever idea. That is why i aim to hit 1000 visits per day by the end of 1st Qtr, and then create an advertising page.
- Bloghology
- First edition of Bloghology will be published in Jan 2008. I want to create one Bloghology every quarter in 2008.
- Networking & Community
- By the end of 2007 i reached to 100 daily RSS subscribers, and a very good network of bloggers. I want to grow this network in 2008.
- Aweber & Newsletter
- I signed up with Aweber, and currently working on a newsletter. I aim to publish a newsletter every week by the end of 1st Qtr 2008.
