U.S. small business online spend continues to grow
I would like to share this interesting news with you which i found at BizReport.com. To cut a long story short please note that according to JupiterResearch’s forecast the total online spending by small businesses will rise from 2006’s $47 billion to $70 billion in 2012. In other words as a small business company your online spendings will almost double in 5-years time.
The amount spent online by U.S. small businesses is set to soar in the next few years as online retailers compete for their business.
The increasing lure of better prices, variety and convenience will ensure that small businesses continue to increase their use of online suppliers. Such are the findings of a recent report by JupiterResearch – “U.S. Online Small Business Market Category Forecast, 2007 to 2012”.
“Growing competition among online retailers for small business spending will in turn put pressure on them to offer promotions and incentives leading to higher conversion online,” explains the lead author of the report, Sonal Gandhi.
David Schatsky, president of JupiterResearch, stated in a recent release that 82 percent of small business decision makers use the Internet to research products and services. “Companies should therefore make driving and tracking the influence of online on off-line sales an important part of their strategy,” he said.
Over the next few years, relationships between online suppliers and small businesses will mature, leading to a larger chunk of spend being diverted online. This is illustrated in JupiterResearch’s forecast that the total online spending by small businesses will rise from 2006’s $47 billion to $70 billion in 2012.
