According to Jooce.com, around 500 million people access the Internet from cyber cafés each day. If you are one of those people, or you just want a consistent experience when browsing the web from multiple locations during business trips or vacations, consider Jooce.
What is the Idea behind Jooce.com?
Jooce brings the functionality of your personal computer at home to any computer you might be using. Imagine you are traveling abroad, and find an Internet Cafe to access the Internet. You login to your Jooce account, and you are done! You’ll be able to access files, email, instant messaging, storage and lots of other applications. Sounds great, isn’t it?
How To Start Using
- The first step is to register and reserve your own private space on their servers.
- Next up, enter your instant messenger account details and click the green arrow to confirm.
- Please note that when you want to talk to a contact, Jooce will send them a message inviting them to sign up every time you text them through their ordinary IM client.
- Next click the Forward arrow to run through all the options and set up your desktop how you want.
- Do not forget to check useful tips which run through when you first start up. They will be teaching you everything you can do with Jooce.
What Can You Do with Jooce?
- You will be able to use this virtual desktop in exactly the same way as a normal desktop
- Store your files, make folders and chat with your friends
- There is also a public desktop, known as a Joocetop, accessible through the green desktop icon at the bottom.
- Using Jooecetop you can allow friends to access and share files you have placed on it.
- Joocetop works in exactly the same way as the regular desktop. However there is one big difference. Through your Jooce instant messenger client contacts can open up your Joocetop, and vice versa. It makes file and information sharing easier. Could be useful for project groups.
Conclusion
Jooce.com is a really useful tool while traveling. It can be used during summer vacations, while traveling from one city to another. However, if you are using an older computer on a low bandwidth connection, chances are all the animations will make it slow to load.
