In this part let’s talk more about editing and presentation of your ebook. The quality of your book’s presentation makes a difference. If you present it well, it can encourage people to circulate it. The more people circulate it, the more traffic you will get in the end.

Edit, Edit, Edit…

Unlike your blog posts, you can not revise your ebook once people start to download it. Therefore you need to edit again and again until you are confident with it.

As you spend most of your time compiling your ebook for a few weeks period, you somehow become blind to your own writing. Do not fall into this trap. To be on the safe side give your document to family and friends to read through.

Probably they will notice some errors you missed. They can also honestly tell you which parts are unclear to them. If you target a specific reader segment, then you might share it with some trusted friends or readers who are within the target demographic for your ebook.

Don’t push yourself

Draft your ebook first, and then re-draft it. You should check grammar and spelling. Leave your ebook for a few days, and then come back to it with fresh eyes.

It is actually better to print it and go over the hard-copy for a few times

raft, re-draft, check spelling, check grammar. Let your eBook sit for a week and come back to it with fresh eyes. Print it out and carefully go over the paper copy.

From my own experiences i must tell you that sometimes things you missed on your PC screen will be obvious on printed paper.

In part 5 we will talk about how to promote your ebook effectively, which platforms to use for this purpose, how to ask help from the people. If you release your ebook and it goes no where, the possible reason is because there is no incentive to circulate it.

I believe Part 5 - promotion & marketing is the core of any ebook project. If you missed previous parts, please find them herebelow:

I agree with you 100% about having someone else do some proof reading on your ebook or anything you write. I used to do proof reading at a newspaper and was good at it but that was with other people’s writing……..when it came to proof reading my own writing, I didn’t catch the errors without a lot of re-reading.

Hi Mert,

I’ve really enjoyed this series. It’s a big step to put together an Ebook. I’m looking forward to the marketing portion. I know that I need to market the EBook I’ve created, but I have been slow to figure out what the best ways are. Thank you again!
