Blogger Portraits

Have you ever heard of the term Bloghology before ? Probably not, because i invented it a few minutes ago.

What is Bloghology?

An anthology is a collection of poems, stories, songs, articles, or other literary passages chosen by a compiler. Similar to an anthology, a bloghology is a collection of bloggers, their profiles, photos, and links to their best posts. It is a PDF e-book which can be easily circulated throughout the blogosphere for personal branding and marketing of selected good quality bloggers.

What is the logic behind Bloghology?

Not all bloggers are good at personal branding and marketing. Especially the small bloggers face with a lot of challenges at the very beginning. Most of them stop blogging, because it seems almost impossible to overcome those obstacles, and succeed in the end.

Bloghology will help bloggers on marketing and personal branding by highlighting them and their blogs completely for free.

Okay, cool!, tell me more about it

Bloghology is a joint campaign by Peopleized.com and Search For Blogging.

Peopleized

Peopleized.com is a new social networking website which is based on a very simple yet genius idea of Halil Mandal and Euripidis Kitsos ; connecting bloggers by encouraging them to make interviews with each other. This way bloggers develop a better relationship than any other social networking sites. They address any question, and then share the interview with others. For more details regarding Peopleized.com, take a look at my old post: Peopleized.com Interviews For Personal Branding

Now, let’s clarify the rules:

  • Bloghology is open to all bloggers. However, small bloggers will be preferred as mentioned above.
  • First release of Bloghology is limited to 30 bloggers only. Don’t worry, if it works and add value to small bloggers and Peopleized.com, we will continue every month.
  • All participants should sign up with Peopleized.com so that we can interview them
  • Every participant has to publish the Peopleized.com interview in their blogs. This is going to be a win/win situation for both participant bloggers and Peopleized.com
  • If you are willing to involve in the first release of Bloghology, please either leave a comment to this blog post or contact me no later than Dec 17, 2007.

What is Requested from Participant Nominees ?

  • Short biography of yourself, 350 words maximum
  • Description of your blog(s), 100 words maximum
  • One photo (the one you like most!)
  • URLs of 5 Blog posts from your blog(s), these should be your favorite posts, be selective!
  • One Peopleized.com interview, and URL of the blog post which shows the interview
  • Active promotion and marketing of Bloghology, as this is going to be your show!

What will be your benefit if you participate?

  • One quality link back from this blog
  • Your biography will reach to hundreds of thousands bloggers all around the world.
  • You will be represented in a fancy way with your biography, photos, and links to your best shots!
  • You will be highlighted. It is your time to show up now!
  • You will join one of the most promising social networking community; Peopleized.com
  • Your interview will be repsented on the frontpage of Peopleized.com
  • Finally, you will gain lifelong membership from Search For Blogging, and develop friendship with one of the most promising blogger and his team. This team’s main motive is your blogging success.

In a nutshell, here is the timeline for the first release:

  • Participation request submission - no later than Dec 17, 2007
  • Selection of the first (lucky!) 30 bloggers, and announcement of their names in this blog by Dec 18, 2007
  • Completion of Peopleized.com interviews - by Dec 23, 2007
  • Submission of photos, short biographies, description of blog(s), and links of 5 favorite blog posts - no later than Dec 25, 2007
  • Release of the first Bloghology - by Jan 1, 2008

Bloghology will be our 2008 new year gift to all bloggers. We wish this project will add significant value especially to small bloggers, who are willing to promote themselves, but do not know where to start.

In order to create the maximum impact, the interview questions will be hand picked for each participant. There may be some funny questions, too. We want this exercise to be as enjoyable as possible for all bloggers. Therefore please don’t be afraid of the questions. They will help you discover the child within.

We are looking forward to see you in the first edition of Bloghology. This is your time, and your show….and SHOW MUST GO ON!

Empty spaces - what are we blogging for
Abandoned places - I guess we know the Alexa score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for(traffic?)…

Another blogger, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the (ADSL) line, does anybody want to take it anymore
The show must go on,
The show must go on

Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up (theme) may be flaking
But my smile :) still stays on.
Whatever happens, I’ll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed (link exchange) romance

On and on, does anybody know what we are blogging for?

I guess I’m learning, I must be a problogger now
I’ll soon be turning, round the corner now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I’m trying to promote for free
The show must go on

My blog is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairy-tales of yesterday will grow but never die
My blog can fly - my friends
The show must go on!

@Tips For Bloggers: i am looking forward to see you participate

@Les : Great! you will not regret :)

Mert Erkal December 13th, 2007

@acquagamze : your seat is already arranged in the first edition, thanks for your interest!

Sounds interesting Mert. But how does it work for very targeted niches such as mineI I find the more generic type of marketing tools don’t tend to reach my market.

Mert Erkal December 14th, 2007

Hi Karooch, thank you so much for interest. Well, even though scrapbooking is not my target niche, after i know you and your personality better, i started to spend sometime in your blog. If one day someone asks me something about scrapbooking, i will definitely suggest yours as a good reference guide. Marketing is marketing; we can’t even estimate how many bloggers will download and read it. I will try to highlight your personality and your blog so well that even someone who has no idea about scrapbooking will be eager to check your blog. That is my concern, that is what i have been doing since 1998 as a Marketing guy :) Hope clarifies, if not i would be happy to answer your questions. Your question has helped me to look the other side of the coin, thanks!
