How To Find Blogs With No-Follow Removed For Better PageRank

No Follow

Recently i received a lot of questions regarding how to find No-Follow attribute removed blogs. I am not sure whether you have heard this term before or not. Let’s start with the basics.

What does No-Follow Attribute mean to bloggers?

If a blog imposes a “no-follow” on comments, it tells search engines not to follow the links on the comments section, and not to pass any PageRank to them. There are certain reasons why a lot of blog owners do this:

  • They have no idea what no-follow is
  • They don’t want to attract spam comments
  • They don’t want to lose their PageRank

Personally my blog still has a no-follow tag. Because i don’t want spammers to attack my blog. However, i plan to try it as soon as possible. If i survive, will update you about my experiences.

Some blogs actually remove the “no-follow” tag attribute, either manually or by using a specific theme or plugin. These blogs are sometimes terms “do-follow” blogs, a coined term to mean the opposite of no-follow.

What Can You do with a No-Follow Attribute Removed Blog ?

Guess what ? A link from that blog in return of leaving a good quality comment . Sounds great, right ?

You can get links by simply commenting on the blogs. You should not leave junky comments though. If you leave valuable, and informative comments to those blogs, those bloggers will visit your site. They will link to your quality posts.

Don’t forget this; building links is similar to building good friendship. Add value to your friend, and be rewarded in return.

How to find No-Follow attribute removed blogs?

You are so lucky. I provide a list of them herebelow. Develop a daily habit of leaving 3-5 good quality comments on your target blogs (it is better to target from your niche segment), you will definitely be amazed with the results you are getting.

The results are amazing not only in terms of PageRank but also for building relationship with those bloggers.

Before you start please read my old post “The effect of Unnatural Linking Patterns On Your Search Engine Rankings“. This will guide you on selecting your target blogs which will not negatively effect your search engine rankings. i.e. If you are blogging about small business branding, then there is no benefit of gettting link from a celebrity blog. Right ?

Here is one good example to a no-follow removed blog : Planet Saedel

Thanks for the interesting post. I find it a bit strange thinking people will comment or avoid from commenting based on the no-follow characteristics of a blog. After all blogging and reading is more than an act of link exchange. Isn’t it?

BTW, to the best of my understanding the number of links a certain webpage has have nothing to do with his Google PR, which is based on incoming links alone. You can have none or a million outgoing links and it won’t change a thing (unless you are a link farm, which will probably have you banned from Google in some time)

Just my luck, I am always the last in the line. While you were probably publishing this I was installing the do-follow plugin and writing my own article on the subject - either that or brilliant minds think alike.

Anyway I think I am a do-follow now - if anyone knows how to check then please do and let me know.

cheers

Great information and well-written.

I like this quote of yours because it’s true:

“Don’t forget this; building links is similar to building good friendship. Add value to your friend, and be rewarded in return.”

By the way, I installed do-follow plugin long before, how come my site is not listed in this post? *angry* j/k Mert. :P
You can check my site if you wish.

Cheers!

Another Dofollow blog ;-) http://jmorris.name/

I think you are being a little selfish if you have no-follow attribute for comments. When someones visits and comments on your blog, as a mark of appreciation let the visitor get the link. For reducing spams I install Aksimet.

Manas Kabiraj December 6th, 2007

Very good site.Visit mine here http://kasakk.blogspot.com
Please check my site whether it is do flow or no-flow.Please give me blog review.Thanks.

I don’t have the nofollow attribute for my comments page. Some people have good things to say and deserve a link back. Just manually filter out the spam…that is what I do.

Saedel December 6th, 2007

Hi Mert, I got your comment from my blog, thanks for putting me up there. ;)
I agree with comments above. If bloggers don’t want spam in the comments, install Akismet and/or manually review the comments. It’s not that hard to do.

Virtual Millenium December 6th, 2007

Great post again, and thanks for the list. If someone gives feeback he deserves a link back!

Internet Junkie December 7th, 2007

I don’t have a no follow tag on my blog, as far as I know, it is a good thing to have inbound links as well as outbound links, and I always like to visit the blogs of people leaving comments on my blog

JMorris December 7th, 2007

Just to add to this a bit, since becoming a dofollow blog, I’ve noticed a significant increase in quality commenters on my blog while my spam volume has not significantly increased.

I use JSSpamblock and Simple Trackback Validation Manual approval for first time commenters on my blog and I’ve had very good results and have built some solid relationships.

I would recommend continuing to comment on high ranking blogs regardless of whether they follow or not, though. The relationships you build can payoff with much more than just a backlink.

You have spent some time creating a grea list! Thanks for sharing this wonderful resource with your readers.

I’m do-follow, and it’s great to see so mnay blogs that are!

Olivier April 30th, 2008

A great list, thanks for that, but what I find a bit odd is that this huge dofollow list is on a nofollow blog.

Olivier.

Excellent post! Bookmarked this page :D

kiran pk June 10th, 2008

this is so cool! But how do i really check if it has no no follow.. Cuz when i look at the page source come and do a ctrl F, i can see nofollow there. So how does one check this. :)

Michael June 20th, 2008

Thanks for the long list.
There are also some programs that will search and filter out no follow blogs.

Please add mine; I removed the no follow tag a long time ago and hope it hasn’t sneaked back in by default.

Cheers,

wow, that\’s definitely something to think over. Nice site..

Media Training October 2nd, 2008

This is a great list, although I do feel that Google is getting wise to this technique. I have commented on a number of blogs and only one or two have ever been picked up by Google. They don’t hold that much weight.
