Combine SEO, Blogging, and Social Media for Results – Part 2
In part 1 I reviewed the SEO and Blogging topics of the HubSpot webinar titled “Combine SEO, Blogs, Social Media for Results”. Now it’s time to review the social media part.
What is Social Media?
It is no different than a business cocktail without constraints of time and space. You meet people online through social media platforms, and start conversations. You help people, and answer their questions. They do the same for you.
You need to keep these points in mind if you want to succeed in social media:
- Become a real member of the community, actively participate
- Add value to the community, ask and answer questions
- Promote your blog content regularly through social media sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, Facebook.
- Use Twitter effectively to promote yourself and your blog. Twitter has a viral effect. HubSpot promoted Twitter Grader on Twitter only, and now 50% of the traffic comes solely from Twitter. It is a very effective free promotion tool. By they way, check your Twitter Grade (Mine is 99 out of 100)
- Monitor publishing via blogsearch.google.com
- Regularly check Twitter Search for ongoing discussions
A Sample Inbound Marketing Day
- First thing in the morning: check blogs, Facebook, and Twitter. Leave some comments, and add new friends.
- Early in the morning: Publish a new blog article, and post its link to Facebook and Twitter.
- In the afternoon: When someone says nice stuff about you, vote for it on Digg and StumbleUpon. Post link on Twitter and Facebook, and email friends to promote it.
- Before the evening: Review your SEO results, make a couple tweaks if needed.
Conclusion
All you need is to combine your SEO, blogging, and social media efforts and do them regularly every single day. Continue at this pace for a few months, until you see good results. Success in blogging, like every area of your life, depends on personal dedication and persistence. Stick to above mentioned inbound marketing sample day plan, you will succeed sooner or later.
