Bing:What Is In It For Bloggers?
Posted by Mert Erkal on Jun 1, 2009 in Blogging | 7 commentsMicrosoft has today announced Bing. It seems like one of the most promising search engines of the last couple of years. I analyzed this new search engine from a blogger’s perspective.
If you are a blogger who is living outside North America, you will be seeing a localized version of Bing. I checked with my blogging buddies in US, and they told me localized versions are missing some features such as search history. US version of Bing is much more interactive. However, you can come over this problem by visiting Bing Worldwide, and set English – US as your default region. You can now use the full featured version.
The good thing about Bing search engine is that it lets you can save your search history to your Windows Skydrive account or on to a local folder inside Bing. The best of all, with Bing you are able to send your search queries to a friend via e-mail or publish them on your Facebook wall.
A search like blogger:pdf will show pages that are related to bloggers and that also link to PDF files. Replace PDF with DOC to find out web pages that contain links to Word Documents.

Thanks for the tip. Makes Bing make more sense to me. Too accustomed to Google.
I am glad you liked it Mabyn.
I have only started to use Bing recently and I find that the interface is so simple. Back to basic I guess.
Back to basics, I liked that Sarah
