A Few Thoughts On Blog Comments
Posted by Mert Erkal on Apr 20, 2009 in Blogging | 2 commentsBack in 2008 I posted Comment Sniper for Better Blog Commenting Strategy, and stressed the importance of having an efficient blog commenting strategy. Briefly, blog commenting helps you engage with the blogosphere. However, if you solely rely on your theme’s comment section, you will not fully benefit from the comments you receive.
Bearing this in mind, I installed an excellent WordPress plugin called IntenseDebate. If you look at the comments left for my blog, you will notice that this little plugin not only provides a more professional look, but also encourages your readers for commenting. It is also integrated with Twitter and other popular social media platforms.
If you want to have better communication with your readers, try this plugin. You will be amazed with the positive impact too soon.

Mert,
I've heard of Intensedebate but you know I use commentLuv which I'm very pleased with. However, this looks promising and may suit many bloggers needs. Another strategies for commenting are the following:
- Provoke questions and feedback by the nature of your input.
-More beyond using words like "nice," "cool" and "good."
-Interact with the author's post.
-Find something in the post you strongly agree or disagree with
-If know nothing about the post topic, do some research, and come back to share you findings.
-Share a useful link
-View commenting as a potential to connect with readers, other bloggers: an opportunity to build friendships
-What else?
-Mig
You summarized it very well Miguel. Thanks!
