Google launched Knol as a knowledge sharing platform similar to Wikipedia last summer. According to the official Google blog the 100,000th knol published a few weeks ago. Writing a knol is very similar to blogging. Knols are published via your Google account, therefore your name is attached to every article you publish. You can build both inbound links and credibility with every knol you write.
What is A Knol?
Knols are authoritative articles about specific topics that are written by people who know detailed information about those subjects.

How To Write A Knol
- Click on http://knol.google.com/k/
- On the upper right corner you will notice “Sign In”. Click on it.
- You need to sign in with your Google Account. If you are going to promote your business, then you shall use your business or blog name as your Google Account. You will do much better promotion of your business or blog that way.
- Once you are logged in edit your profile, and then click on “Write a Knol”.
- Start writing a knol. You can write as many different knols as possible. However, in order to be consistent, your knols should always be related to your business or blogging niche.
- If you are a blogger, keep writing knols about blogging. Write short intros and link them to your existing blog articles.
Conclusion:
The good thing is you can choose to accept moderated edits from your audience. Just start a knol, and invite your readers to contribute with their own comments and knowledge. Your readers can click the edit button, and submit their own suggestions and comments while reading your knols. You will then be able to make the desired changes directly in the knol. This is definitely a new mode of online collaboration which bloggers can benefit from.

The only drawback that I couldn’t accept was that the links are “nofollow” at knol !!!
