Poll Results: How Much Money Do You Earn Blogging In a Month?

By Mert Erkal in Blog, Making Money Online

A few weeks ago I conducted Poll: How Much Money Do You Earn Blogging In a Month? So far I had almost 60 votes. I would like to thank all the voters.

Let’s analyze the results:

Poll_make_money

The poll has got almost 60 votes, therefore I assume it as a good indicator of the make money online market. Majority of the bloggers are making less than $10 every month which is not a surprise for me indeed. This is either because they don’t care much about making money online from their blogs or they really don’t know how to make money online. I assume the latter is true. Otherwise they won’t bother themselves to join the poll.

It is noteworthy that 7% of bloggers (I call them the lucky ones!) make over $15,000 per month. Most probably they make that much money not only from blogging, but also by the products they promote from their blogs.

This poll was really good food for thought for me. Now I know my reader’s expectations from me. I should start telling them about the basics of making money online by blogging. Some of my readers already have steady monthly income from blogging and they are more experienced. Yet they will still be interested in some new opportunities. I should regularly keep them updated with the new make money online opportunities.

How many unique vistors did you made during the poll? 60 votes are quite few for a panel, unless yo take them as a percentage of all your visitors durin the whole period, yet I believe they still are to few…

Learning the basics is right where I am. I would find this really helpful.

I think it’s stupid enough to compare the number of visitors with the people who actually took time to press their mouse button and write something off their keyboard.

I’ve seen personally 5,000 hits a day on one of my page and only 2 comments.

I’ve seen my other friends page getting 10,000 hits a day and only 40-50 comment drops..

60 people who took time to vote and move their mouse cursor.. I think the ratio is big

And yeah, I don’t want my online income jinxed. It’s good for me.. though

That’s exactly what gives a poll its credibility. The question was the poll, not who writes about it. That’s a completely different matter.

I find that people trying to make money online have a ton of options and the trouble with this is that it paralyzes people and then once people take action it is not consistent but instead we all try to do a limited amount of everything. Post some comments, write some reviews, get in volved in some social networks.

Anyway success really comes from concentrating on one thing and doing it well and a lot. Write 10 blog posts a day. Comment on everything in your niche everyday OR build relationships in social networks a lot. The thing is you can not do all of these things so you need to pick one and work on it.

Hi Alex, I compared the results with Darren Rowse’s poll, and the results were more or less the same. That is why I did not take unique visitors into consideration. Mine goal was to see whether Darren Rowse’s poll was telling the truth or not. Now I know that most bloggers can not make more than $10 a month. This is the most important outcome of the poll. Despite tons of make money online blogs/websites, majority of the bloggers can still not make any money, whereas their mentors/gurus grow each and every month. So there must be something wrong here. Big sharks eating small fish here by telling them how easy it is to make money online!
