Knowband – The Knowledge Based Social Network
Posted by Mert Erkal on Aug 11, 2008 in Blog, Making Money Online, Marketing PR, Small Business, Social Networking | 4 commentsLast Saturday I joined RiaTalks – Rich Internet Applications and Web 2.0 Conference in Istanbul. During the day I have seen world class websites developed by young Turkish software engineers. Knowband is one of them. It is absolutely a new milestone at online collaboration and learning. Knowband’s Facebook application will also be available soon.
How Knowband works?
Well, first of all Knowband is still at Alpha phase, meaning there are still things to fix and improve. All kinds of feedback will be appreciated by the developer team. Even though it is at Alpha phase, it is fully functional.
During registration it may ask you a code, please enter 65, and do not tell anyone that I provided the code to you!
Registration takes a few minutes. After registration you can check the available courses under Courses menu on the top, or you can create your own course depending your knowledge and expertise.
Live Training Session Experience
Following the presentation of Knowband Eren Bali, CEO & Cofounder of Knowband, arranged a live training session for us. There were around 10 people in the live session, and all could connect the session with their voice&video. All participants were connected through DSL connection (Almost a standard here in Turkey!) therefore the live session was very effective. It may not work with dial up or low Internet connection.
Benefits of Using Knowband
- Share your knowledge and expertise, build a community
- Invite your project group to Knowband, and use it as a Teleconference platform
- Give a blog mentoring program through Knowband
- Invite your potential customers to Knowband, and introduce them your new products
- It can be used as a training tool for companies with many offices around the world
- Use it as a LiveChat tool for your customer service
- The list goes on like that. What is your suggestion?
My Course at Knowband – A Quick Method To Make Money Online
For me the easiest way to try a new website is to start using it. Therefore I have created a course titled A Quick Method to Make Your First Dollar.
It is very difficult for me to understand how many bloggers are making less than 10$ per month. There are a lot of opportunities even for the new bloggers. I have discovered a fantastic new approach to website marketing. Freebies4Webmasters even gives you a bonus for signing up on top of your regular PayPal payments every month. I would like to share my experience with you during the live training.
The doors are open to everyone. Remember it is limited to 100 users at the moment. Duration is 40 minutes, and live training session is scheduled to Aug 14, 2008 18:30 local Turkish time (Local Turkish time is GMT+2)
Sign up from here if you are a registered member: A Quick Method To Make Your First Dollar, or you can find it under Courses menu after having registered.
Conclusion:
If you are familiar with Facebook applications, you will not face with any challenges when using Knowband. It is quite user friendly. Knowband has potential to become big in a few years time. Keep using it for your business and blogging. I will be using it regularly to increase my readership and provide blog mentoring services.

Most political blogs don’t make a dime and virtually all personal blogs don’t, either. Making money from your blog is the ridiculous exception to the rule.
Many bloggers aren’t at all interested in making money from their blogs and of those that are many of them hate marketing/advertising or just don’t have a clue about it.
Of those that are interested and that want to do a few certain marketing type things then a good basic course will serve them well. Just reassure them that they aren’t being scammed somehow.

Hey there! Great post! I’ve been a lot of video conferencing these days on television like the advertisements of CISCO. It’s good to see that we are getting closer through communications.
