These days good things are happening in Turkey in terms of ecommerce and Internet businesses. Last week I joined a meeting of etohum in Istanbul. It is a platform aiming at associating investors, professionals and companies with young entrepreneurs who have  ideas about the new economy.

etohum is a brilliant platform for young and inexperienced Turkish entrepreneurs. 30 individual/team will attend their Internet enterprise education program.

The good thing about etohum is their doors are open to anyone who has new business ideas but has not started a company yet, or has his own Internet company/enterprise but needs capital, management, marketing.

Between August 2008 and May 2009, people desiring to be Internet entrepreneurs, will find a proper entrepreneurship environment for education purposes. They will also have a chance for their business plans to be evaluated and assessed by companies, investors and other peers.

Last week’s etohum meeting hosted Onder Eren, founder – General Manager at Mavi Kelebek New Media Solutions. He introduced his new project TakasMerkezi.com(English version whatswap.com will soon be available!) The idea is simple yet brilliant. Swap your unused valuable goods at the website to earn credits. And then use those credits to buy books, CDs, electronic goods etc. I will later write a longer post when whatswap.com is available!

Tonight I will join another etohum meeting. This time we are going to meet Serdar Kuzuoglu from Televidyon.com. I will tell you insider info from the meeting later this week.
