Current Value of Make Money Online Blogs
Posted by Mert Erkal on Apr 15, 2008 in Blog, Making Money Online | 22 commentsYesterday morning while I was reading Making Money as a Side Effect of Blogging by Darren Rowse and The wealthy gardener by Seth Godin, I noticed that there is an incoming link to my blog from Current Value Of Make Money Online Blogs 4-13-08.
I am quite surprised to see that my blog’s value is calculated as $3555 according to the number of RSS readers by 45n5.com.
Frankly speaking I have never thought of selling my blog before. On the other hand, when looking at Current Value Of Make Money Online Blogs 4-13-08 I see that selling a blog at a reasonable price can be a smart move to grow.
Imagine I sell my blog at $15,000. I can invest only $3000 of the money to have someone design a better looking blog, hire some bloggers to produce content for my new blog, and hire a SEO expert etc. $12,000 will still be in my pocket.
What do you think? If you receive a reasonable offer, would you sell your blog? Or would like to continue with it forever?

My blog produces zero income, in fact, it costs me money to keep online. Despite that, I think I’d still have a hell of a time selling it.
Hmm. I probably would sell my site, but only for a ridiculous amount of money. I’m pretty attached to it right now.
For that kind of money I would sell!
I don’t think I’m going to sell it! It’s my baby!
Hmmm am not to sure if i would sell it not that it would be worth much the now because its new but maybe if it was for a lot of dosh

Of course I’d sell any of them. Just say a price
Hi Mert,
I don’t think I’d sell. I’m here for the long term.
Imagine what our blogs would be in 3 years? Given that you and I know what we’re doing, of course..
Cheers,
Alex
I like my blog and am not in the mood to sell it…I probably would for lots of $$$$ I would just make another one and would learn to like it just as well.
For the right price , sure why not ?
Well, 45n5 rated my blog worth $4,000 but I don’t think I would sell it for that price. But if anyone approached me with a five-digit amount, then I probably would do it.

Don’t sell your blog! it’s your hope of make money
For that amount of money, I’ll sell them and start a new blog again =) coz I really enjoy writing…
It really depends on the blog and on my situation at the time.
Right now, my main blog at Run to Win is really branded to me and is something that I use to promote all of my other offers and to help identify myself in my community. Somebody would have to offer me more money than they’d be able to recoup w/o gutting and starting from scratch if they wanted it.
Some of my other blogs, though, I’d certainly sell for a reasonable offer and have set them up in such a way that a year or two down the road that that will be an easier thing to manage than it would be through Run to Win.
Depending on the amount, I can imagine to sell it. Well, my current hochstadt.com probably not, but a domain name that has noting to do with my personal name or so, sure!
By the way, Mert, you accepted a trackback from a spammer domain – the one that starts with “unknown wrote an interesting post today” above…

I would love to sell any of them if the price is right.
Hey!
If you can get money of it?why not?Everyone wants only money guys!
You could think of your blog as part of your personal business. Then it becomes a simple business decision; if the price is right its quite ok to sell it.
I have given my all to produce my blog.I will not sell it but rather i will ask buyer to give $15000 and will satisfied him creating new blog as now it will take less time bcz having experience from my blog or i must say my son.
If it really drives money then why not? I will surely go ahead with it.
Hey!
Your blog is wonderful! To be frank everyone tries every possible method to make money! So why not make some money…
Hey,
The main aim of everyone is to make money. When you have a good offer to your blog why don’t you sell it and build another blog as you said by spending $3000.
Still left $12000 with you at the end of the day.
12000 dollars is it not a good money…
I’m still learning from you, but I’m trying to achieve my goals. I absolutely love reading everything that is posted on your website.Keep the posts coming. I enjoyed it!
