Big Giveaway: Win a RuffBook Water Resistant Laptop!

A promise is a promise. If you already read my post Have You Downloaded Your Gifts Yet? you will easily remember that i promised to update you on some amazing giveaways. Here is a new one:

The Thinking Blog has launched a free laptop giveaway campaign and to participate, you just have to write about it! Sponsored by Ruff PC, it is a brand new and water resistant laptop called RuffBook Tech with magnesium alloy casing built to survive under harsh conditions where ordinary laptops fail.

Ruffbook

The RuffBook Tech is the latest water resistant Ruff PC with extremely high performance hardware in a show stopping design optimized for harsh environments. Powered by the ultra low power consumption Intel Core Duo 1.73GHz processor, 512MB DDR RAM, 60GB Shock-mounted Hard Drive, and a CD-RW/DVD+RW (DVD Dual) Drive, this rugged portable is designed to give you reliability in environments where conventional laptops would fail. With added protection from damage and data loss to these critical components, it is rugged enough to perform best and safely under any real condition. The RuffBook Tech has a water resistant keyboard (never again worry about spilling drinks), a magnesium alloy casing (20-times-harder than plastic alloy base case) which protects against vibration and drops, and can be trusted with all of your clumsiness wherever you may be. It has state-of-the-art 14.1″ non-glare TFT LCD screen and up to 224MB shared video memory that provides for vibrant images, both indoors and outdoors. Behind the display is the ultimate wireless technology (802.11 b/g) for true speed and wireless accessibility. It is heavy duty in the multimedia department as well with the built in flash card reader, microphone, and four speakers. Combined with the Intel high definition Azalia 24Bit audio system, this rough computer delivers a crystal clear sound. More details can be found in the specifications page and there are huge close up pictures in the gallery page.

To enter the giveaway:

  • Write about it in your blog
  • Ensure you have two links on your blog post, one link with rugged related keywords to RuffPC.com (e.g. “rugged computer”, “water resistant laptop”, “spill proof notebook”, and the likes) and another link to this giveaway post:

Big Giveaway, Real Prize: RuffBook Water Resistant Laptop!

The entry can be positive, negative, or mixed, but they have to be genuine to qualify. This giveaway is open to all bloggers around the world. After finishing your blog entry, you need to send Ilker an email with the URL to the post. Once he confirms the post meets the entry requirements, he will add it to the list of participants.

The deadline for entries is December 20th. Then all the participants will be listed in a post on Thethinkingblog with a link to their blogs. Needless to say how valuable it is to get a link from Thethinkingblog.com which has an Technorati Authority of 2929 and ranked as 259th in top 500. Even if you miss the Ruffbook, it is still worth posting about the giveaway to get a valuable link in return.

You will then have 5 days to vote for the best entry in a poll and the person with highest votes will win a brand new RuffBook Tech. So, the earlier you enter, the higher up on the list your entry will be and the better entry you write, the higher chances of you winning this stellar prize! The winner will be announced on Tuesday, December 25th 2007 on a seperate post, and Ruff PC will get in touch with you to send out your Christmas gift.

Stay tuned with my RSS feeds, more giveaways to follow soon…:)

  1. However promising this sounds I’ll pass. These schema is not much different than linking campaign that John Chow used to run for “make money online” and got Google slapped and the “paid links” controversy in last couple weeks where bloggers got hit by big G …

Unless this contest allows “nofollow” in links it might become a target.

Thanks Alex. I did not know the story about John Chow. Will let Ilker know it too. Before it is too late, he should change the rules. On the other hand, comparing John Chow with Ilker Yoldas (Thethinkingblog.com) may not be fair. Because as far as i have read from other blogs, John Chow is the bad boy of blogospehere. He is doing everything to make money. Ilker and John have different values. Ilker’s main aim is not to make money in any case. He would like contribute to blogospehere by creating awareness and improving thinking skills. Money comes second or third for him.

  3. Alex, that is the reason why we don’t specify a single link text as a requirement. It can be anything as long as it is rugged-computer related. Here is an example of how this works:
