Sometimes you watch a video online and you want to save it to watch again in the future. I bet you have been told before that you can not download movies from YouTube, MSN video, or Google videos. Right? Actually you can. Splandoo downloads your favorite videos and converts them into Flash movie format.
The site is very easy to use. Find the video you want to download, check the drop-down menu next to the URL box to see the supported sites, and then paste the URL into the box provided. That is all!
Click download you’ll be offered your usual ‘Save’ dialogue. All you need is to change the name of the file to whatever you want to call it with .flv at the end. Splandoo will save the file as a Flash movie. You will then need a Flash movie player installed on your computer to watch it from your hard disk. If you don’t have, Splandoo also provides a link to download a free Flash player.
Conclusion:
Whether you’re a blogger who is trying to learn new blogging concepts through videos, or a businessman who wants to improve his professional skills with personal development videos, you can use Splando completely for free.

You can make your presentations public or private. The good thing is authorSTREAM even converts them into a YouTube and iPod compatible version if you have met the criteria stated in this section when you created your presentation.
I signed up to authorSTREAM and built a presentation to test the website. I wanted to see how long it takes for the upload to be processed. It normally takes a few minutes (depending on your file size it may increase!) to upload your Powerpoint presentations. Currently you are limited to files up to 1GB size.
You’ll get an email when your presentation is uploaded. You will find a link to your uploaded presentation in that email. Or you can logon to your account and click on My Account and the Uploaded Presentations link to get a direct URL. You will also find your presentation as embedded which can be copied/pasted as HTML code to your blog or website.
I uploaded my presentation and within 10 minutes the view number reached to 23. To get the most out of it, convert your presentations into a YouTube and iPod compatible version.
These days quite a lot of people are running their own magazine about things they are interested in. You need to be using a desktop publishing software to get a professional look, however this kind of software are expensive. Thanks to open source software ideas, you can now have a fully functional desktop publishing software for free from Scribus.net
What is Scribus?
It is an open-source program that brings a professional page layout to Linux/Unix, MacOS X, OS/2 and Windows desktops with a combination of “press-ready” output and new approaches to page layout. Scribus supports professional publishing features, such as CMYK color, separations, ICC color management and versatile PDF creation.
For the first time users the software itself is pretty complicated at the very beginning. But if you are used to desktop publishing, it will look very familiar. All you have to do is to click Support and then Documentation in the right hand navigation panel to access a page where you can click through to the various tutorials. Then you are done, publish your work!
Conclusion:
If you are looking for a free desktop publishing software then I suggest you Scribus. I must admit usability is not as good as the paid desktop publishing software, but once you get familiar with this program, you will also be doing great job with Scribus.
Today is the first day of my online career. As of yesterday I quited from my full time Marketing job after 10 years of hardworking and dedication. On my last day at the office my friends surprised me with their gifts. They bought me a SGH-D900i mobile phone. I shook hands of around 100 colleagues in the Istanbul office and kissed them one by one (It is a common tradition in this region!) Honestly I did not expect so many people to be upset just because I am leaving the company. It was a wonderful feeling for me. (It is paradoxical, I know)
Today was the first day of my prison break. Now I have much more time to spend on my blog and good content. Please keep on watching my blog. My best is yet to come.
